ALI'S JOURNEY
Ali Miller is an artist and designer based in North London. She studied Fine Art and Sculpture at Brighton University over 20 years ago, where she refined her ability to express feelings and emotions through her art. She enjoys using a wide variety of mediums, preferring to let the idea determine how best to be expressed - whether it be through huge immersive art installations or small intimate detailed collage that draws the viewer in.
After graduating, Ali worked as a window display designer at Selfridges and Fortnum and Mason in London. At the same time, she started to experiment using household items such as tables, chairs and wardrobes to create her unique artwork. This progressed to using her Grandmother’s unwanted china, as she loved the idea of expressing personal memories onto unloved vintage tea sets.
Ali has exhibited her artwork in galleries from London to Paris and New York to Miami. In 2010, John Jones Framing invited her to run a major exhibition showcasing her vintage upcycled china. Her collections sold out and Ali Miller London was born.
Ali’s latest artwork uses acrylic paint on large canvases, taking inspiration from the chaotic, scary and unknown time during the Covid pandemic. The pieces are full of movement, colour and texture. Ali invites the viewer to be immersed in the story and pulled into the intricate details.
